The members of the EMS Cooperative Board of Directors have renewed their confidence in Algeria’s representative, Mr. Nabil Bensissaid, by electing him for a second consecutive term as President of this body.
This election took place during the General Assembly of the EMS Cooperative, held on February 13 and 14, 2025, at the Council’s headquarters in Bern, Switzerland.
Alongside Algeria’s representative, the EMS Cooperative Board of Directors includes members from Japan, China, the United States, Singapore, Canada, Romania, the Netherlands, and Senegal.
It is important to note that the Universal Postal Union (UPU) is the second oldest international organization affiliated with the United Nations. Its cooperative, specializing in express mail services, brings together 176 member countries from around the world.
Algeria once again stands out on the international stage, having previously been the first Arab country to sit on the EMS Cooperative Board of Directors.
As part of his mandate, Mr. Nabil Bensissaid will be responsible for steering and managing the cooperative’s strategic program in line with the economic priorities of member countries for the 2025-2029 period. His work will also focus on accelerating growth in various economic sectors, particularly through digital platforms dedicated to express mail services.
This re-election highlights Algeria’s commitment and active role within international postal organizations, further strengthening its influence and contribution to the development of the global EMS network.
